Assault fits freeride style

The last couple seasons there has been a heated battle between fellow mountain test rider Josh Skinner and me. Why? We both seem to always want to ride the long-term Polaris test sled. Yes, the last few RMK models have been that good!

Skinner usually takes ownership of the Polaris at season’s start and I have to pry it out of his hands and garage to get some seat time. Last season our battle for the Polaris was eased somewhat by Polaris sending both a Pro-RMK and RMK Assault for us to test.

Having two machines made things a lot easier as the Assault is better suited to Skinner’s jumping and drift bashing riding style and the Pro more suited to my technical boondock-riding style. As hesitant as we were to give up our respective Polaris babies we did switch a few times throughout the season so we could both gain riding impressions of each.
