2012 Yamaha Snowmobiles Revealed

February 28, 2011 After unleashing its powerful 160+ horse Apex equipped with EPS last season, Yamaha turned most of its attention to the Vector for 2012.
The Vector, powered by a smooth 120+ horse 4-stroke, now adds EPS to lower steering effort and lessen wear and tear on riders over a full day or week’s ride. Just like the EPS on the Apex, the power steering here is mechanical, but with a power assist that gradually lessons the assist as the Vector’s speed increases.
Additionally there is a new shock package up front, new skis and new ski mounting points, all aimed at better handling. Look for a new mid-height windshield on Vector too.
Venture GT, Yamaha’s luxurious two-up touring sled picks up EPS this season too, further aiding its comfort for long trail tours.
Look too for a new track on the Nytro MTX mountain sleds. The Ascent track replaces the Maverick that Yamaha has used for several years. There’s another new track for the racy 130+ horse Nytro RTX too. |
