Pro Stock 1000 @ Amsnow Shootout

Thanks to a lot of interest, there WILL be a PS 1000 class again this year at the Amsnow Shootout.  What I need are some commitments from participants.  We can get the purse money with the help of Dave Dunigan, Steve Petschke, Joe Riccardi and some others.  Who will come and race.?   Current NSDRA rules will apply.  We need 16 sleds minimum to make this worth the effort .

Also, in regards to PS 800:  What do you think about allowing the 800's to run heads-up with the 1000's with a weight break?  50-75lbs. less ????   Just a thought.

We will be there with two sleds as I am sure most of the Michigan Pro 1000  gang will be.

800's are not going to be able to compete with the 1000's even with a weight break. But, if that is the only way to compete at Martin I would go for no weight on the 800's with fuel rules in place.

Re: Pro Stock 1000 @ Amsnow Shootout

Jamie, why not 625 like ESTA that allows a Pro Stocker to jump in ALL Motor & be more competitive & its tough to keep adding weight if you run the same sled in 2 or 3 classes. For 800's about 120 lbs less than a 1000 would be about the same Power to weight, most guys would have trouble getting this light so I would say not weight on an 800 unless I show up with a 280lb 800.

The class is definitely a "GO".

The interest from both racers and sponsors has been very positive.  Looks like it's going to be a good race.

Hope to have Payouts posted soon.

So are the 800's going to compete in 1000 at no determined weight?  If so, I need to get out the plasma cutter so I can try to be as light as Rich. Hmm [^o)]

according to underground gossip ,  richard is a buck lite .....legal minus uno-a-hunderd,  guessing > 525 <     he's even got carbon fiber fillings in his teethSmile [:)]

is a reason an excuse or an excuse a reason?

when excused from work early , dont you need a reason ?

is calling a problem an excuse a way to deal with the fact you cant figure out the problem ?

Part of the weight equation is how light of a driver with credentials I can find. The sled is perfectly safe and weighs about 410lbs, so with a 130-140lb driver I would probably come in around 550lbs.

His clutch guards are not legal, dont the rules state aluminum .125 no belting, .090 with six inch wide belting. And if they are where can I buy one.

Re: Pro Stock 1000 @ Amsnow Shootout

Iceman, My clutch covers are legal, the Pro stocker is .125 & the side cover has 2 dowels on the side & clips in at the top plus 2 extra braces bolted to it in front of the steering, most tech inspectors & onlookers have said its the strongest they have seen. My light sled uses .090 & 4 layers of Kevlar wrapped a full 360 plus riveted this cover is by far stronger than the .125 & way stronger than the .090 covers with normal belting because the kevlar is wrapped 360. The .090 & Kevlar would cost around 1100.00 & Ron you are way off on the weight. A clue would be I normally weigh 155 if you divided my weight & added or subtracted you would be much closer.
