Sabre Jet Correction
I just got thru reading  Backtracks by Jerry Bassett. Boy did that bring me back to my youth. The first snowmobile I ever bought was a brand new 1974 Sno-Jet SabreJet. Jerry says that the only engine offered was a 39 HP 440 Yamaha. Well mine was powered by a 50 HP 650 Hirth engine. The top of the engine had a black shroud that stuck out thru the hood just like the crome 440 but had 650 on it. I think maybe the 650 was released late that season because it wasn't offered in the 1974 brochure. That sled had a ton of torque for it's day and my wife (then girlfreind)and I rode double all the time and the sled was faster in a drag race with her on the back then when I was alone. I hope she doesn't read this but with her 110 lbs on the back it gave me great traction and pulling wheelies was a blast. I wish I could have convinced her to jump off after the first couple hundred feet for better top end!

JDS 800,
Don't worry your comments are safe with us, but I can't say the same for your other friends who may read this forum. Smile [:)]  You definitely had us all laughing here though.

That's funny dude! I had a Mazda truck that was horrible in the winter, it just about got stuck in it's own shadow. Maybe I should've made the woman ride in the box.
