Ski-Doo Monthly Industry Update

As the saying goes – you can’t cancel winter! So at Ski-Doo, we’re going to make the most of it for sure!

The ‘’Staycation’’ momentum we saw in personal watercraft and off-road vehicles in the recent months is continuing in snowmobiles as more people are looking to buy earlier. In addition, more are fixing up and accessorizing older models in anticipation of riding a lot this season.

Because of this, Ski-Doo is sending loaner sleds to the largest Avalanche Forecasting centers in North America. The snowmobiles allow them easier access to remote areas so forecasters can keep backcountry users up to date on current conditions and help riders make safer decisions. Please be sure to always check and understand the forecasts when riding in avalanche terrain.

Check out our Avalanche Awareness Video series to improve your understanding of terrain evaluation and selection, avoidance, proper use of avalanche rescue equipment and rescue techniques. You can find the videos here

New news: We’ve added some great people to our team of Brand Ambassadors.

Because we still believe in chivalry, it’s ladies first with Stefanie Dean. Dean came on our radar screen last year during the search for Everyday Riders with her passion and down to earth personality. She is from Utah and has spent extensive time riding and guiding since taking up snowmobiling in 2016. Her love for being outdoors is apparent as she trains horse and riders during non-snow months in addition to running a summer camp for kids and horses.

Next up is Steve Martin whose roots in the deep snow market go back to birth in Canada and continue to deepen in his home town of Evanston, Wyoming. If you look him up on social media you’ll see plenty of photos with his trademark high flying action, but you’ll also notice his passion for all things snowmobiling. Steve had a very successful racing career, winning a Pro snocross championship and bringing home multiple X-Games medals in both snocross and hillcross. He hasn’t let success go to his head and you’ll find him to be very humble and eager to chat sleds with anyone and everyone. He’s also a bit of a techno head, having produced some useful How To videos that those DIY wrenchers might like.

John Gibbs joins the team as the resident social media fanatic. He’s the main man behind four powersports-focused Facebook pages: Ski-Doo Owner’s Club, New England Sled Talk (NEST), Maine Snowmobile Trail Talk & Discussion, and New England ATV/SUV & SxS. Gibbs’ non-stop energy and enthusiasm is absolutely contagious, and his positive outlook is inspiring. We’re grateful John is a Ski-Doo rider, but he’s a resource for all snowmobilers with years of on- and off-trail riding experience to share.
