Polaris Cross-Country Racers Alex Hetteen And Taylor Bunke Earn Victories and Retain Class Points Leads

Hetteen wins in the I-500 Class, Bunke takes first in Semi-Pro 600

Medina, Minn. – Polaris cross-country snowmobile racers Alex Hetteen (Hayford Racing) won the I-500 class and Taylor Bunke (Bunke Racing) won the Semi-Pro 600 class at the USXC’s Seven Clans TRF 250 held Jan. 23-24 on terrain courses near Thief River Falls, MN.

After two days of racing, Hetteen won the I-500 class by a margin of almost five minutes. He is the current I-500 class points leader and he should be a strong contender in the I-500 that will run from Winnipeg, MB, in to northern Minnesota on Feb.10-13. His win in the Thief River Falls 250 was his second of the USXC season. Fellow Polaris racer Eric Christensen finished sixth.

Bunke won his third Semi-Pro 600 race of the season by a margin of nearly three minutes and he remains the class points leader. Hetteen finished fourth in Semi-Pro 600 at Thief River Falls and Andrew Diekmann finished 13th.

In Pro Open, Polaris racer Aaron Christensen (AC Racing) finished fifth, Justin Tate (2 Eight Racing) was sixth and Nicholas Jahnke finished seventh.

Bunke finished sixth in Pro Factory 600 and other Polaris racers to notch top-10 finishes were Christensen in ninth and Tate in 10th.

Jill Tangen (Hayford Racing) finished second in the Women’s class, giving her two wins and two seconds this season and the points leads.

In Sport 600 Stock, Polaris racer Dan Herberg finished fourth, Andrew Diekmann was fifth, Jeff Hayford (Hayford Racing) took eighth and Cade Hayford (Hayford Racing) was ninth.

Jared Christensen finished second in Sport Open and Jeff Hayford was fourth. Mike Bedard finished second in the Vintage class.
