Arctic Cat Teams Compete In 2,000-Mile Alaskan Iron Dog Race

Plymouth, MN – Team Arctic snowmobile racers are competing in the 2,000-mile Alaskan Iron Dog.

The course distance is more than 2,000 miles, starting in Big Lake with a halfway stop in Nome and finishing in Fairbanks, making it the world’s longest snowmobile race.

Participants cover some of Alaska’s most remote and rugged terrain while confronting some the harshest winter conditions. Survival skills are essential, making it the world’s toughest snowmobile race. All race classes consist of two-man teams competing on two snowmobiles in the name of safety.

February 19, 2016 – Start of the Recreational Class (Big Lake)

February 20, 2016 – Start of the Pro Class (Anchorage)*

February 21, 2016 – Pro Class Restart (Big Lake)*

February 24, 2016 – Halfway Ceremonies in Nome

February 27, 2016 – Finish of the Pro Class in Fairbanks
