A Firecat And A(nother) Rev

Two midseason models released

March 2003 Feature

In the February issue of SnoWest we detailed the release of the Ski-Doo Summit Rev, a sled we had the chance to take for a spin in Colorado in December. We anticipate the midseason release of the Summit Rev will be a big success for Ski-Doo.
Since then, Ski-Doo has released another midseason (kind of) model and Arctic Cat has unleashed a hoped-for 600 in the Firecat chassis.
Let's start with the Cat.
Arctic Cat released in mid January limited quantities of an all new F6 Firecat EFI. The new F6 is priced at $7,599 US and $9599 Canadian.
Offering all the engineering breakthroughs found on the original Firecats, the new F6 fires out of the gate offering incredible power-to-weight ratios.
Tipping the scales at 460 lbs. (dry weight), the new 599cc F6 offers an incredible 118-120 hp. It gets 46mm throttle bodies and Arctic Cat's battery-less EFI (BEFI) system for easy starts, low throttle effort and automatic temperature and altitude compensation.
The new F6 will feature the new-for-2003 AWS VI front suspension, with a 43-inch ski-stance and 9.2 inches of travel and Arctic Cat's FasTrack Long Travel Rear Suspension with coupling blocks, adjustable torsion springs and Arctic Cat's gas (IFP) shocks.
Completing the package is a sharp new paint scheme complete with a green/black hood and pan combination, green faded to black windshield, unpainted tunnel, silver A-arms and spindles, green skis, two-tone seat and a yellow name badge reading F6.

Blair Morgan Rev

Two years ago, there were no Revs. Now they're all over the place. The latest Rev release from Ski-Doo is the Blair Morgan MX-Z Rev.
Bombardier is releasing a limited edition 2003 Blair Morgan MX Z-Rev to all you racer wannabes who can now actually kind of look like a Pro racer. Morgan, the biggest name in snocross, won 18 major snocross races riding Ski-Doo snowmobiles in 2002. The MX-Z Rev, in Open Mod form, won 12 of 15 major races, including two X-Games gold medals.
The inspiration for the Morgan-edition sled is the 2003 MX Zx 440 LC race sled.  It sports a nearly identical black and yellow color and decal scheme, with 7c race numbers (Morgan's number-if you didn't know that, you're not ready for this machine). Morgan's autograph is emblazoned on the side of the seat.  A specially-designed sled cover, reflecting the decal and sled design, is also included.
But the beauty of this sled is more than skin deep. It is equipped as the MX Z X-package, with the Rotax 800 Series 3 twin. The Morgan edition also features the Rev-X tilted tunnel, straight from the 2003 440 racer, which is six pounds lighter than the articulated tunnel.
The Blair Morgan MX Z Rev 800 X-package arrived in dealerships in mid-January with a suggested retail price of $9,649 US and $12,649 CDN with the cover included.
